Science Communication Workshop (Six Legs, Endless Possibilities) -- May 20, 2023
In this morning workshop, we delve into how we can use narratives (stories) to communicate the excitement and importance of research to non-scientists. This workshop introduces participants to the latest science communication research and how to use storytelling to effectively communicate science. This workshop is sponsored by the USDA NIFA Training Grant: Six Legs, Endless Possibilities (https://six-legs.ucr.edu/)
We use google docs collaboratively in this workshop. Here, you will find links to the resources: ABT exercises, infographic activity, and the readings: Salton Sea, urban agriculture, carbon farming for pollinators, and insect biodiversity decline
SciComm (ENTM 060W): Exploring Effective Communication Methods in the Life Sciences
In this class, we seek to demystify the writing process and engage students in the creative process of communicating science. Students participate in a diversity of writing, editing and peer review activities relevant to students, scientists and researchers in any life science field.
Below you can view the academic bios of SciComm students! Links to their writing projects are coming soon.
