Exploring Careers in Entomology Summer Camp - Registration for Summer 2026 NOW OPEN March 20 - May 30th, 2026
For students entering grades 9, 10, 11, and 12.
Explore careers on a whole new level! Make connections with researchers and educators, experience science with hands-on experiments, and engage in entomology with creative outlets alongside UCR entomologists. Topics will cover a variety of fields to engage curious minds in insect biodiversity, molecular biology, urban entomology, agriculture, art, and more. The camp will offer a sneak-peak into world class university-level entomological curriculum. Outside of the classroom and lab settings, students will also get the opportunity to collect insects on the UCR campus. See the 2025 schedule to learn more.

Registration Information
- Enrollment is open for 15 students
- Enrollment into camp is on a first come, first serve basis (Maximum of 15 total campers)
- Cost of tuition: $350 ($50 registration fee + $300 tuition)
- $50 due at registration to reserve a spot in the camp
- The total tuition of $350 is due by May 30th
- Receive a t-shirt and insect-collecting kit
- Please note that the camp will not provide food to students
**The camp is aimed towards fostering the local community and its underprivileged students, though everyone is welcome! As this is a camp that aims towards the edification of local students, and prioritizes local, disenfranchised students, any students applying from outside a 50- mile radius of campus will be put on a waitlist. After May 8th, if there are spots left in the camp, students from outside a 50-mile radius of the campus will be notifies and moved to the official camp roster.

We strive to make entomology accessible to as many students as possible and don't want the cost of tuition to be a barrier to attending this educational opportunity. The Entomology Graduate Student Association is offering a limited number of need-based scholarships. Eligible participants can find application information here.
