The Department of Entomology offers programs leading to the M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Entomology, with research specialization in the following areas: arthropod vectors of plant pathogens, biological control, insect behavior, insect ecology, insect morphology, insect pathology, insect pest management, insect physiology, insect-plant interactions, insect systematics, insect toxicology, insecticide resistance, insecticide toxicology, medical/veterinary entomology, molecular entomology, neuroscience, and urban entomology. A detailed supplementary listing of requirements and procedures for the Department of Entomology can be obtained from the Graduate Program Assistant CNAS Graduate Student Affairs Center (email: insects@mail.ucr.edu Phone: (951-827-5913).

The Department of Entomology offers undergraduate programs leading to either the Bachelor of Science or the Bachelor of Arts degree. The B.S. degree offers students with a strong interest in the natural sciences an opportunity to emphasize this aspect of their education. The B.A. degree is available to students who wish to obtain a broader background in the humanities and social sciences than is required of students in the B.S. program.
