Distinguished Professor Emeritus Mir Mulla Honored by Islamic Center
Mir S. Mulla, professor of entomology emeritus, and Ronald O. Loveridge, mayor of Riverside and associate professor of political science, received Community Building awards from the Islamic Center of Riverside. The awards were presented at the annual Interfaith Iftar Ramadan Dinner on Sept. 29. Mulla was recognized for his role as a founding member of the Islamic Center of Riverside, his leadership in building the mosque and his efforts to unite Riverside's Muslim community. Loveridge was honored for his leadership in multiculturalism and inclusivity, including the development of the "Building a More Inclusive Riverside Community" statement by the Mayor's Multicultural Forum in 2000.
